Multiple Load Carriers in an Automated High-Bay Warehouse
In a high-bay warehouse, a wide variety of load carriers are handled on a daily basis: Euro pallets, industrial pallets, and special pallets. The stored goods include, among other things, pallets of drywall panels and corrugated cardboard. This combination of different load carriers and goods places high demands on the load handling device used, as it must operate flexibly and reliably within an automated process.
Rotary Pushing Fork as a Solution for Closed Pallet Windows
A particular challenge in this project was the storage of Euro pallets in both longitudinal and transverse directions. When storing Euro pallets in the transverse direction, the load handling device must be able to enter closed pallet windows. In addition, some special pallets also feature closed pallet windows. A conventional telescopic fork was therefore ruled out. The choice was made on our Rotary Pushing Fork V-DSG-1-1350, which, due to its rotating mechanism, can pick up and deposit pallets on both sides as well as from the front.
Prong Adjustment for Customized Flexibility
Since the load carriers used have different dimensions, the rotary pushing fork was designed with an integrated prong adjustment. This allows the prong spread to be adapted to the respective pallet formats. Through this customised solution, the end customer is able to handle all load carriers used, including those with partially closed pallet windows, in a fully automated manner within the high-bay warehouse. The result is a stable, efficient warehouse operation without any manual intervention.
